As a breeding program, we can attest to the excitement that comes from adding new bloodlines to a herd.  We’ve watched German imported horses for some time, and have even imported one of our own (Riano) in 2024.  We’re now excited to be working collaboratively with Sally Allwardt and Kris Fritz to be adding Heidi to our program as an up-and-coming program star and delightful brood mare.  Heidi is out of Hella by the well-known Norwegian stallion, Hangvar Kry.  Hella is a wonderful brown dun mare who will do anything for her rider from trails, liberty work and cross country.  Heidi’s sire is the lovely grey Da Vinci (Draupnir).   Da Vinci is a very talented stallion.  His German performance test resulted scores of 8.3 as he also competes dressage, liberty work, cross country, trails and is also a schooling horse for children.  Heidi, herself, was awarded with grades 7.7 and 7.8 as a “premium foal” as she displayed her walk and trot in front of German judges.  She is very kind spirited and  curious and we are anxious to watch her grow into a beautiful and athletic mare.  

Heidi is a tall, leggy grey gal with temperament, physical and mental strengths sure to be a great addition to our program.  Special thanks to her breeder Judith Sellmeir and the help of Julia Lingner for helping with this import.  We’re so excited to have her here at Sunnyside!
