As we grow older, it is important to become good role models for our younger peers. In the eyes of the horse, we are never experts, and learning opportunities are endless. At Sunnyside, we don’t claim to know everything, but we hope to be able to share what we do know! Sunnyside Farms provides youth empowerment opportunities through our Leader-in-Learning program, giving our teens a chance to develop life skill sets, build confidence and find purpose. Kids at-risk take on important roles, have responsibilities and are held accountable for their tasks. Through farm-related wellness experiences, we can create awareness and help prevent teen suicide by fighting anxiety and depression and giving these kids a chance to find themselves at just the right time.
Our mentor process allows for youth empowerment and mindfulness in ways that develop a sense of self-worth and importance that many of them would not realize on their own. Youth get to know that it is possible to choose a better path through their time at Sunnyside. This position offers payment in the form of great lifetime experiences at Sunnyside Farms.
