Regarding Pricing:

In-Utero Foals

Although there are variables and unknowns with an unborn foal, we do accept deposits on babies in-utero. Interested parties should be flexible as to gender, size, color and certain characteristics and consider investing $10,000 with 1/3 down upon contract to purchase, 1/3 at birth and 1/3 at weaning.

Weanlings $10,500 and up

From birth to weaning, our foals are imprinted and handled extensively. They lead, tie, load, clip, groom, trim, haul and are highly socialized to cars, machinery, other animals, people of all ages, social events, different types of fencing, and live in a herd situation. Foals are happily weaned and ready between 4 and 6 months.

1-2 year olds $13,000 and up

Growing and and having been handled, socialized and ground started, our juniors will do everything that our babies do plus ground drive, lunge, pony and drive along-side their elders. They will have been on trips and shown at events/expos. They will be easy to start with a desire to learn.

3+ years – started $15,000 and up

Our 3 year old horses do more than most as we like to expose them to as much as possible. Often, they have been evaluated, are lightly started to drive and even often to ride. Price also depends on age, gender, pedigree, conformation, temperament, training status, show experience and breeding potential.

Consignments/Retrains/Resales $15,000 and up

Occasionally, Sunnyside Farms will have consignment or retrain horses available. Their value and sales prices vary widely depending on acquisition and rehab costs, training time, interim expenses, etc. We have experienced many special horses over the years and are delighted to share them with others.

Sunnyside Smedsmo’s Lare is a HUGE, leggy, correct grey filly born 3/10/23 by Smedsmo Gråen out of Seljeset Wendy by Brijol. Her impeccable imported lines, color and conformation make her a very special little package.

What’s more special is that Lare is the namesake of my father, Laurence Bauwens (Lauri), who recently suffered a massive stroke. May they both see many beautiful sunny days ahead and “Coach’s” legacy live on through Laura’s sweet soul.
